General Position Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, supports communications functions at the District. Responsible for
writing, videography, graphic design, and photography for publications, and other
Communications projects. Provides support for employee and customer events. Supports District
social media channels as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
1. One (1) year of college completed with a study emphasis in journalism, communications, public
relations or a related field. If a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.
2. Strong organizational skills; attention to accuracy and details.
3. Must be a self-starter.
4. Ability to work with limited supervision.
5. Ability to work on several projects at one time and meet deadlines.
6. Writing skills, with emphasis on using active verbs; use of Associated Press writing style.
7. Strong skills and experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and
8. Skills and experience in visual storytelling including writing, shooting and editing.
9. Experience in social media content creation.
10. Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of
enterprise software.
11. Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required.
12. Work is primarily performed in an office setting amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes,
office lighting and noises. Some outside work required dependent upon project.
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist internal and external customers,
co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation.
14. Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
15. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Create content (writing, video, photos) for District communications, including website,
presentations, social media, etc.

2. Provide planning support for employee events, including design, promotion, execution and
3. Assist with District’s fundraising efforts, including campaign strategy and planning, material
design, and event coordination.
4. Provide support to Communications Specialist and Digital Media Specialist, as directed.
5. Various administrative tasks, including but not limited to data entry, mailings, department

7. Perform a variety of other duties as assigned.
