Incumbent works under the direction of the Clerk of the District Court or designee, supervising and overseeing operations of exhibit management in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Compensation: $32.06 – $47.85/Hour

Essential Functions:
Supervise assigned staff (e.g. orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, monitoring, evaluating, and recommending personnel actions).
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, department policies and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on exhibit related matters.
Evaluate and adhere to statutory requirements and court rules, monitoring changes to confirm ongoing procedural alignment.
Store and manage exhibits (e.g. firearms, ammunition, narcotics, hazardous materials, biohazards, valuables, paper items, and clothing).
Accept and handle exhibit items, completing required documentation, chain of custody steps, and efficacy of storage methodology.
Retrieve and return exhibits for legal proceedings, ensuring movement of items meeting the needs of stakeholders and adhering to policy and procedural requirements.
Oversee legal disposition of exhibit items, manage process following procedural requirements, and manage disposal, transportation and destruction.
Manage uploading case process and tracking exhibits within cloud-based evidence management system, performing periodic inventory.
Prepare and maintain records and reports.
Assist in developing, implementing and updating policies and procedures (e.g. processing and securing exhibits), reviewing and recommending improvements.
Safely operate a motor vehicle when required to travel on County business.
Report to work with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned and directed.

Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field of study.*
Five (5) years of experience in receipt, preservation, storage and disposition of materials and documents required.*
Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
Two (2) years of MSOffice experience required.
Experience working with a complex inventory system preferred.
Experience utilizing specialized exhibit software preferred.
Experience with exhibit management preferred.
Armor certification or similar upon hire or within 6 months and maintained throughout employment required.
Compliance with random drug testing required.
Valid driver’s license and own transportation upon hire and maintained throughout employment required.
Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check, physical assessment, and conditional offer drug screen required.
*Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Work is generally performed in an office and file room setting. Noise level is usually moderate. Work hours are typically standard day-shift hours; however, schedule may vary (e.g. days, shifts, weekends, overtime/extra hours, holidays, emergency call-in). Work involves potential exposure to unpleasant odors, biohazards, and firearms. Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, multiple/changing priorities, limited resources and uncooperative/irate individuals.
Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of sitting, standing, frequent walking, reaching, and occasional balancing, kneeling, bending, and climbing. Work also requires the ability to frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
