Summary
Performs the daily, monthly, and seasonal horticulture care tasks at a high level – pristine at The RiverFront, including event set-up/tear down, maintenance and repairs of park landscaping features and grounds:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the overall maintenance, repairs and upkeep of The RiverFront grounds, plants, trees, and grasses with coordination of both in-house staff and contractors.
• Executes plan for controlling invasive species, insects, and plant diseases; care for soils, shrubs, trees, lawns, and gardens; provide for irrigation and drainage; clear brush, leaves and litter; maintain existing landscaped areas.
• Responsible for the general welfare of the plants within the park including identification of potential pest or bacterial issues that may develop.
• Participates in soil cultivation, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, plant bed preparation and planting.
• Assists with event set-up, change over and tear-down activities for all events held within the park property, in coordination with other departments.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be 18 years old to run power equipment
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
• High school diploma and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and irregular hours.
• Ability to demonstrate regular and consistent attendance.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Operating garden and landscape equipment such as mowers, weed wackers, tow behind sprayers, and pressure washers.
• Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment like pruners, soil knives, loppers, shovels etc.
• May be asked to participate in turf fertilization and turf chemical applications if certified
