Elevator is seeking a Community Intern for its location in the Old Market District in Downtown Omaha. This role is responsible for event marketing/communication, coordinating event partners, delivering a positive member experience, and executing daily tasks that leave members and attendees feeling great about their experience with Elevator. Elevator houses 90 small businesses, providing them with space and resources to grow their businesses. We also host 4-8 events a month, ranging from company retreats for our members, to educational programming put on by Elevator. The goal of these events is to provide meaningful programming to members and the Omaha community, generate sales opportunities for Elevator, and grow our community of entrepreneurs and members.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing team. The Event Coordinator position reports directly to the Community Director. The Community Director and Community Engagement Intern will work together closely to create the best experience for members and execute the day-to-day operations of Elevator’s Omaha location.

Duties:
Perform day-to-day operations of the building: stock, clean, event setup/teardown, and assure the building is in tip-top operating condition.
Assist Community Director in their duties and projects as delegated.
Oversee incoming and outgoing mail, small parcels, and freight shipments.
Community building: coordinate community events, programming, and encouraging interaction between Elevator members.
Coordinate and oversee building maintenance along with the Community Director and Community Manager.
Perform reception duties, such as greet members, check in guests, and answer phones and emails.
Some manual labor is required including operating a freight elevator and pallet jack, lifting and moving boxes, and light daily cleaning.
All other duties and tasks as assigned.

A highly-motivated and adaptable professional with a bias towards action, a commitment to cultivating meaningful relationships, and a drive to work in innovative and dynamic environments. Strong ability to perform and keep a level head in the face of challenge, and a desire to collaborate and be a part of a team with an intentional purpose.
Highly customer service oriented. At Elevator, member experience is the top priority. Being approachable and professional is a must.
Problem solving. No member request is too big or too small.
Record of community engagement and community involvement.
Excellent communication skills.
Event planning and execution.
Demonstrated history of resourcefulness and self-accountability.
General computer skills – Google Suite, Slack, and email.

Requirements:
Must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM + occasional events outside of normal business hours as needed.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to move about inside the building to deliver boxes, stock materials, assist members, etc.
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds across the building for various needs.
