The job
Buildertrend is looking for a professional Senior Database Administrator to keep our database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end users.
Things to look forward to
Build, manage, and performance tune SQL Server database systems of high performance, availability, and quality to handle application traffic
Design and implement databases in accordance to information needs and views
Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Participate in on-call rotation with team
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Assist in continuous deployment procedures
The preferred candidates
Proven working experience as a SQL Server Database administrator, preferably with high volume enterprise applications
Strong understanding of SQL Server 2014+ internal architectures, configuration and performance best practices, and interaction with underlying hardware to highly tune environments.
Excellent knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
Familiarity with .NET programming languages database interaction a plus
