Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides daily support to the procurement of materials, supplies, and services required for the continual operation of the District’s water and gas systems, business operations and the Purchasing team. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical skills and must be a part of daily activities.

Essential Functions
•Analyze data for reporting and updating of records in SAP.
•Upload contract information from online bidding activities into SAP.
•Assist Buyers to resolve pricing discrepancies.
•Provide assistance to Buyers with various sourcing/bidding activities.
•Communicate with vendors and internal customers on products and services; invoices; purchase orders; deliveries; and other related procurement functions.

Required for All Jobs
•Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
•Understand and comply with all District policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements
•Preferred – Previous experience with SAP or other ERP software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Excellent personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Aptitude and willingness to work with new software.
•Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required.
•Exceptional organizational skills including ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing work demands and interruptions.
•Must exhibit good analytical ability.
•Ability to work independently on a consistent basis.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English, to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external customers, vendors, co-workers, and management, regardless of provocation.

Education
•Required – Completed a minimum of one (1) year of college level coursework, preferably in supply chain, business, information technology, or a closely related or technical field of study. Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or if a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
•Office: Work is primarily performed in an office setting amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, office lighting and noise.
