The Analyst Leave Management role is an entry-level position within Workforce Resources. Analysts provide answers and assistance to company employees for a variety of employee leave-related questions. HR Analysts partner with employees and supervisors across the company to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations, while improving outcomes for our employees. This position has direct ownership of your work results and superb opportunities to develop a deep knowledge of several Workforce Resources functions, and build relationships across different departments.

Primary departmental leave management role in a highly regulated industry. Make frequent independent safety critical decisions for medical-related and military leaves as governed by DOL regulations. Embedded in organizational operations for maximum safety, productivity, and cultural impact. Requires knowledge of and collaboration with Health and Medical Services Medical Rules, FRA regulations, DOL regulations, USERRA regulations, UP benefit plan provisions, discipline policy, Labor agreements and safety practices.

Improve processes and leverage technology to improve productivity.
Establish and lead client relationships with employees, departments and management teams to build organizational knowledge of FMLA regulations, DOL requirements, HMS medical guidelines, military leave requests, FMLA requests and best practices in managing leave requests.
Contribute to decision making on conditions of employment based on safety, employee needs, operating department requirements, DOL and USERRA regulations and labor agreements.
Communicate leave management options/functions to the agreement and nonagreement workforce
Support and participate on FMLA special projects.
Serve as a subject matter expert for FMLA Regulations, STD/LTD benefits, military and leave management programs in alignment and under the general direction of WR leadership and the legal department.

A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in this field

Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills
Advanced communication skills
One year of work experience in Human Resources
