Position Summary:

Performs a variety of accounting tasks involved in maintaining financial records and processing related data; monitors, verifies and reconciles daily bank deposits and electronic payments; computes, classifies and records numerical data into the accounting software system. Performance reflects the organization’s Core Values of Team, Inclusion, Trust, and Integrity.

Essential Functions:

• Records, classifies and summarizes accounting transactions requiring knowledge of accounting policies, procedures and systems within the Finance Department.
• Selects correct accounts; posts and verifies balance, debit, and credit entries; reconciles accounts; maintains journals and ledgers; compiles internal control reports.
• Completes annual report of unclaimed property to state of Nebraska.
• Prepares Reports, Journal Entries and posts for Month End Close.
• Verifies documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Performs arithmetic calculations.
• Maintains interface with departmental employees to obtain and provide information to verify or support financial records and ensure compliance with established O-pa policies and procedures.
• Prepares correspondence and answers inquiries regarding accounting information as required. Checks accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports and statements reflecting various data for utilization by management staff.
• Assists Senior VP/CFO and Associate Vice President of Finance with special projects.
• Provides backup to receptionist as needed.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

• Two (2) years related work experience required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
• Required to sit for extended periods of time.
• No physical exertion required.
• The noise level in the working environment is usually quiet.
