The City of Council Bluffs is currently hiring for the position of Recycling Laborer!

Pay: $15.78/HR with step increases to $20.14/HR

Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Will occasionally be required to work nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities: Performs a wide variety of routine tasks in the comprehensive city-wide Solid Waste Management Program.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to become certified in forklift and skid loader operation upon hire
• Ability to satisfactorily complete OSHA 24-hour HAZWOPER training within the first 12 months of employment
• This employee will be required to be fitted annually for the use of a respirator. Per OSHA Accepted Fit Test Protocols, the test shall not be conducted if there is any hair growth between the skin and face piece sealing surface, such as stubble growth, beard, mustache, or sideburns which cross the respirator sealing surface. A minimum of twenty-four hours’ notice of the fitting time will be provided to allow the employee time to remove all facial hair.
