The Driver - Non CDL operates a Straight Truck delivering lumber products and pick up credits from and to project areas. Driving to urban/rural residential and commercial locations.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operates straight trucks with two or more axles
Demonstrate decision driving skills by Safely delivering various bulky and/or heavy lumber products in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and damage-free
Adhering to assigned deliveries and check on load related documentation for completeness and accuracy
Maintain driver forms and log (ELD) according to DOT regulations
Maintains high activity/productivity levels while operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and determination
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods
Address and resolve customer issues as appropriate and informs dispatch of any outstanding issues related to the customer deliveries
Check vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1-year driving and delivery experience
Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience a plus
Other Requirements

Must have current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted Driver’s license
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
Work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime
Maintenance of regular attendance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Verbal & Written Communication skills and map/GPS reading abilities
Maneuver large vehicles on highways, inter-city and traffic routes
Ability to comply to daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitude
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goals
Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is perform within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust
Perform activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, standing/walking for prolonged periods
Reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
