Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the SAP Security Administrator is responsible for the development,
testing, and promotion of SAP security roles and authorizations. Work takes place in a normal
office environment.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, plus a
minimum two (2) years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities
specified for this position; strong non-degree candidates with significant demonstrated
experience may be considered.
2. A demonstrated understanding of SAP business processes for utilities, or two (2) years of
experience performing SAP Security Administration. Other experience managing user access
roles will be considered.
3. Knowledge of at least two (2) major SAP modules utilized by the District preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse
clientele, including technical and non-technical personnel both internal and external to the
District.
5. Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
6. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
7. Capable of influencing others to achieve common objectives.
8. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
9. Strong goal and deadline orientation.
10. Must maintain a professional working relationship with all levels of District employees
and be responsive to their needs regardless of provocation.
11. Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
knowledge of enterprise software.
12. Ability to learn new or upgraded software as required.
13. Must be available for scheduled assignments outside of business hours.
14. Requirements of the job necessitate availability to respond to and support critical
systems 24x7x365 within reason. Candidate is expected to work in or around the District’s service
area.

15. Work is primarily performed in an office setting amid normal conditions of dust, odors,
fumes, office lighting and noise.
16. Effective time-management skills and ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast
paced environment with competing priorities, while meeting or exceeding deadlines.

Specific Responsibilities:
In order to effectively contribute to the objectives of the District, the SAP Security
Administrator, is accountable and responsible for:
1. Responsible for the administration of SAP security roles and authorizations for SAP ECC,
BW4Hana, SAP GRC, SAP Fiori. BOBJ, SAP MCF, and SAP CRM systems.
2. Provides daily processing of user requests, emergency fire role requests, and account
maintenance.
3. Collaborates with the IT and business users to facilitate questions, resolve issues, and
request feedback on access issues. Resolves end-user production support security issues in a
timely and accurate manner, monitors and self-assigns incoming tickets related to security and user
administration.
4. Works within change management guidelines ensuring all transports moved into production
maintain system integrity.
5. Ensures compliance to security policies, procedures, and IT controls that are in place.
6. Ensures that new license requests stay within our available quantity purchased.
7. Process requests in a timely manner and adhere to all SLAs.
8. Stay abreast of technical updates and new technologies that may impact assignments.
9. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
10. Act within the spirit of District and Department values.
11. Understanding and comply with all pertinent District Policies and Procedures.
12. Fulfilling responsibilities common to all Supervisory, Professional, and Administrative
positions as stated.

Relationships:
In contributing to the objectives of the District, the SAP Security Administrator, is responsible
for effecting constructive relationships with:
1. All departments within the District, most particularly computer system users and
the Information Systems Programmers, Analysts, and Supervisors.
2. Information Systems and user personnel of other companies in order to gather information on
new and existing systems and procedures.
3. Vendors of computer software, hardware, and related services to ensure proper
system design and to be able to recommend changes as appropriate.
