TYPING TESTS ARE VALID FOR SIX MONTHS.
Incumbent works under the direction of the Department Coordinator or designee, performing telephone customer service duties for the Election Office.
Compensation: $17.50/Hour
Essential Functions:
Answer Election Commission telephones to answer voter questions.
Look up voter information in the statewide voter registration database, Election Commission intranet, and website.
Transfer telephone calls to appropriate employee, department, or voice mail.
Log caller information using electronic forms.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the general public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
Report to assigned location with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as directed and assigned.
Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
Six (6) months of customer service or clerical experience using computer programs required.
Must be a registered voter or eligible to register to vote.
Ability to type 40 net words per minute.

Work is performed in an office setting. Noise level is usually moderate. Work is generally performed during standard day-shift hours; however work hours may occasionally vary (e.g. evenings, holidays, overtime). Work may be stressful when dealing with multiple priorities and time constraints.
Work requires some physical activity including extended periods of walking, sitting and standing with occasional climbing, reaching, carrying, balancing, kneeling, crouching and bending. An incumbent must have the ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges include close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. The incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment to perform the essential functions.
