Job description:
Develops and maintains departmental and organizational contracts and grants to obtain funding for organizational services.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
▪️Performs the writing activities for designated grant programs and obtains funding to ensure that goals or objectives of programs are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
▪️Studies and understands the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
▪️Develops program proposals and completes applications as indicated in the funding opportunity instructions.
▪️Researches funding opportunities from government and non-government agencies to identify sources of funding.
▪️Completes and submits comprehensive proposal package prior to deadline.
▪️Prepares written questions to clarify funding opportunity instructions and submits consolidated question documents to funding opportunity author or management.
▪️Reviews proposal package submissions with team members as a part of continuous quality improvement efforts
▪️Maintains master files on submitted proposals.
▪️Maintains confidentiality of all strategic service delivery initiatives and completed proposals.
▪️Maintains current knowledge of national child and family-serving policies, best practices and trends to consult to affiliate site staff on appropriate program growth opportunities as aligned with the mission and strategic goals.
▪️Organizes and facilitates proposal development meetings between affiliate site staff, program staff, finance staff, and contract staff.
▪️Works and collaborates on an ongoing basis with other team members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
▪️Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices pertaining to grants, contracts, and proposals
▪️High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent writing, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
▪️Ability to develop, conceptualize, organize, and coordinate plan to develop quality proposals based on funding instructions and Boys Town Model of Care.
▪️Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
▪️Ability to translate complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.
▪️Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
▪️Strong relationship building, collaboration, and presentation skills.
▪️Ability to organize and coordinate meeting facilitation and solution focused outcomes.
▪️Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
▪️High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
▪️Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
▪️Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
▪️Minimum of three years of writing experience; including 1 to 2 years of professional writing experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
▪️Federal, state, and local grant proposals experience preferred.
▪️Healthcare grant writing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
