Recovery-Focused Functional Support

Reinforce cognitive-communication goals related to memory, organization, problem-solving, sequencing, and social communication.
Embed therapy targets into meaningful routines that help residents re-establish a sense of autonomy, dignity, and confidence.
Support a plan of care that emphasizes not only skill-building, but also the resident’s emotional recovery, identity reconstruction, and long-term purpose.
Purposeful Engagement

Facilitate activities and therapy interactions that reflect residents’ personal values, hobbies, and life goals.
Use therapeutic interactions to help residents explore identity post-injury and set achievable, motivating goals that foster hope and direction.
Support residents in recognizing and celebrating progress as they work toward reintegrating into their communities, relationships, and roles.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Participate actively in team meetings, care planning sessions, and professional development opportunities to ensure consistency and high-quality care.
Communicate updates, resident progress, and observations to the supervising SLP and other team members to inform ongoing treatment planning.
