Incumbent works under the direction of the Customer Service Center Manager or designee, assisting with the completion motor vehicle and real estate transactions.

Compensation: $20.19/Hour

Essential Functions:
Assist in completing customer transactions (e.g. motor vehicle titles, registrations, prestige plates, collection of real estate taxes).
Respond to questions regarding requirements and procedures (e.g. motor vehicle titles, registrations, prestige plates, computing tax estimates).
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, department policies and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
Accept and review documents presented for accuracy and completeness, informing customers of additional information or documents needed.
Complete transactions in strict adherence to established regulations.
Perform data entry, prepare and issue requested documents, collect and process fees, or forward completed documents to designated staff for collection of fees.
Process request for motor vehicle titles, registrations, real estate etc., received by mail.
Balance transactions and submit deposit.
Utilize the computer system, law books and other means to research, verify, or clarify information.
Understand and apply federal, state, and local regulations governing motor vehicle titles, taxation, registrations, etc.
Present a positive image of Douglas County.
Report to assigned work location with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as directed and assigned.

Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.*
One (1) year cashiering experience required.*
Two (2) years of public contact, customer service, and clerical experience required.*
Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check and conditional offer drug screen required.
*Equivalent combination of work experience and education may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Work is generally performed in an office setting and at one of various Douglas County Treasurer locations. Noise level is usually moderate. Work hours are typically standard day-shift hours; however, schedule may vary (e.g. weekends, overtime/extra hours, emergency call-in). Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, multiple/changing priorities, limited resources and uncooperative/irate individuals.

Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of sitting, standing, frequent walking, reaching, and occasional balancing, kneeling and bending. Work also requires the ability to frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
