Incumbent works under the direction of the assigned Division Chief or designee, coordinating, directing and managing operations and services of the Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Clinic and Immunization Clinic.

Compensation: $32.06/Hour

Essential Functions:
Direct and monitor operations and program activities of the STI and Immunization program.
Guide, direct and provide technical assistance to the clinic staff, subcontractors, temporary staff and volunteers in order to achieve established program goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, department policies and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
Ensure clinic readiness by assigning duties, monitoring performance and delegating tasks.
Ensure program policies, procedures and activities comply with federal and state laws/regulations, and evidence-based best practices in the immunization and STI fields (e.g. CDC, ACIP, NE DHHS).
Assist Clinic Supervisor, developing, revising, and reviewing clinic program policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Clinic Supervisor, defining and implementing patient care standards, evaluating and modifying standards and methods.
Promote a safe working environment for staff (e.g. education, training, safety policy and procedure review, enforcement).
Maintain and record staff and clinic licenses per requirements (e.g. DHHS Clinic License, Nursing licenses, CPR certification).
Assess and support staff’s clinical knowledge, skills and techniques via skill checkoffs, training, etc.
Respond to questions and inquiries within professional expertise.
Maintain confidentiality of medical and personal health information (PHI).
Coordinate with Supervisor ensuring adequate clinic staffing levels, scheduling and arranging logistics for offsite pop-up clinics.
Provide staffing support in clinic registration, medical assistant or nursing roles.
Promote positive work environment and assist in resolving conflict.
Serve as liaison communicating between the Supervisor, clinic staff and administration.
Coordinate training activities for current and new clinic staff, and conduct stand-up meetings providing clinical updates, changes in clinic processes, review patient schedules.
Demonstrate empathy, respect and understanding toward individuals/families and community values.
Maintain job knowledge and skills (e.g. research, meetings, webinars, seminars, conferences, continuing education).
Oversee modifications and updates to CureMD electronic health record (EHR) documentation and reporting.
Participate in clinic monitoring and progress evaluation, recommending modifications and improvements (e.g. chart audits).
Establish and maintain a clinic billing system.
Work with clinic staff ensuring adequate medical supply, medication and immunization inventories.
Assist with student/resident/fellow clinical or practicum experiences in clinic.
Participate in internal and community committees.
Participate in public health emergency response planning, training and respond during emergency.
Safely operate a motor vehicle when required to travel on County business.
Report to work at assigned work location with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned and directed.

Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration or Management required.
Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with current Nebraska license or from a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing at the time of hire and maintained in good standing throughout employment required.
Two (2) years of MSOffice experience required.
Two (2) years of experience in immunizations and/or sexual health preferred.
One (1) year of supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
One (1) year experience using an electronic health record preferred.
Basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/CPR) certification within 3 months of hire and maintained throughout employment required.
Valid driver’s license and own transportation upon hire and maintained throughout employment required.
Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check, physical assessment and conditional offer drug screen required.
*Equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted for requirements beyond high school on a year-for-year basis.

Work is generally performed in an office setting and occasionally at other locations. Noise level is usually moderate to loud. Work involves potential exposure to biohazards. Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, multiple/changing priorities, limited resources and uncooperative/irate individuals.
Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of sitting, standing, frequent walking, reaching, and occasional balancing, kneeling, bending. Work involves exposure to biohazards. Work also requires the ability to frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
