Position: Summer Intern

Location: Omaha, NE

Duration: May 18, 2026 – July 24, 2026 (may be extended into August 2026, if desired)

This program will provide you with an opportunity to work in an innovative and caring environment while gaining hands-on experience and being compensated for your valuable contributions.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be 18 years old by the start of the program
Currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution (undergraduate to graduate level)
Must possess an active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license PRIOR to May 18, 2026 (*)
Available to work a rotating schedule (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM), including weekends
As part of our thorough evaluation process, you will be asked within the application screening questions to provide a response to, “What would being selected to the QLI Summer Work Experience program mean to you?”
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Must be able to stand for 6+ hours per shift
Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift
Must be able to bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
Must be able to reach and grasp
Placement Options:

Rehab Campus: Work on the Rehab Campus, where you will be part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services. Gain experience in a dynamic healthcare setting, working closely with professionals from various fields.
Long-Term Care: Join our Long-Term Care and participate in the care and support of residents with long-term health needs. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop your skills in a patient-centered environment.
What you will experience:

Hands-On Experience: Work directly with our experienced healthcare teams, including other CNAs, Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Registered Nurses, and Dietitians to develop your skills and knowledge.
Ongoing Learning Events: Participate in workshops, seminars, and training sessions to further your professional development.
Collaboration: Engage with experts in the field and fellow interns to foster creativity and teamwork.
Real-World Impact: Make a difference in the lives of those we serve and be a part of our mission to enhance the quality of life.
Post-Internship Opportunities:

Upon successful completion of the program, students will have the option to remain on as a team member in a part-time capacity, as long as they can commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week, includes weekends.
