Job description:
Incumbent works under the direction of the Adult Drug Court Coordinator or designee, conducting drug screenings (urinalysis) on individuals in the Adult Drug Court Program and entering data into information management system.
The hiring of male only applicants is a bona fide occupational requirement (BFOQ) as established by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Compensation: $16.00/Hour
Essential Functions:
Observe and supervise the urinalysis samples provided by [same gendered] clients within the Douglas County Adult Drug Court. Supervise all clients in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
Provide all new Adult Drug Court clients with an orientation to the policies and procedures within the Drug Testing Office.
Ensure all clients are abiding by the policies and procedures related to the drug testing as outlined within the Douglas County Adult Drug Court Standards.
Submit daily testing results to the appropriate staff member/supervisor.
Communicate and document any concerns regarding client behavior within the testing center to the appropriate staff/supervisor.
Adhere to confidentiality requirements and established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling samples and supplies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, attorneys, supervisors, co-workers, other agencies, and the general public.
Maintain organization/reordering of needed drug screening supplies.
Assure confidentiality of information in accordance with departmental policies/procedures.
Report to work with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience/training in operating personal computers including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel) required.
Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check and conditional offer drug screen required.

Work is performed in an office setting during standard day shift hours; however, schedule may vary (e.g. evenings, weekends, overtime/extra hours). Noise level is usually quiet. Work involves exposure to biohazards. Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, multiple/changing priorities, limited resources and uncooperative/uncontrolled individuals.
Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of sitting and occasionally standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Frequent walking, and occasional balancing, kneeling, bending, and reaching. Work also requires the ability to occasionally lift/carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
