Job description:
Incumbent works under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor or designee, receiving, storing, and distributing materials/supplies in accordance with established procedures of the Douglas County Warehouse and Purchasing Department.
Compensation: $18.77/Hour
Essential Functions:
Receive materials, verifying quantities and damages and notifying supervisor of invoices requiring adjustments.
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, department policies and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful, and quality work environment.
Transfer received materials/supplies to designated storage area.
Operate electric and hydraulic pallet jacks.
Observe safety procedures, avoiding injuries and item damage.
Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Ensure perishable goods maintained in cold storage rotating stock.
Monitor cold storage temperature and immediately report malfunction to supervisor.
Fill orders from Douglas County departments and other agencies.
Note quantities and descriptions of out-of-stock items.
Deliver requested materials and issue delivery receipts.
Notify supervisor of safety and security issues.
Perform inventory checks.
Track inventory and assist in order management utilizing Oracle software.
Investigate discrepancies in existing warehouse stock.
Notify supervisor of needed supplies and equipment.
Safely operate a motor vehicle when required to travel on County business.
Serve on various committees.
Report to work with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.*
One (1) year of warehouse or delivery experience required.*
Valid driver’s license upon hire and maintained throughout employment required.
Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check, physical assessment, and conditional offer drug screen required.
*Equivalent combination of work experience and education may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Work is generally performed in a warehouse setting and outdoors. Noise level is usually moderate to loud. Work hours are typically standard day shift; however, schedule may vary (e.g. days, shifts, overtime/extra hours, weekends, holidays, emergency call-in). Work involves potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of standing, walking, frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, carrying, grasping, and occasional balancing, crawling, kneeling, sitting and squatting. Work requires the ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 80 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing, and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
