General Position Responsibilities:
Under direct supervisor, this position is responsible to perform field/surveying duties.

Summer Student Work Program Guidelines
• Students must be at least 18 years of age by the time they begin employment.
• The expected work schedule for the Summer Student Work Program is 40 hours per week.
• If possible, time-off requests should be presented during the interview to ensure proper coverage. All requests must be approved and requested as far in advance as possible.
• The openings are Temporary Full-Time. Summer Student Workers are paid for time worked. All time-off will be unpaid, including holidays.
• The Summer Student Work Program will begin as soon as May 6, 2024 and will conclude on September 6, 2024. No summer employment will be extended beyond September 6, 2024.
• All applicants must be a high school graduate or possess a General Education Diploma (GED).
• Students selected for the Summer Student Work Program are required to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Students must be currently attending college and/or enrolled in college classes for the fall of 2024. Proof of enrollment may be requested

Minimum Requirements:
1. Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License while in this position.
2. Strong organizational skills; personal initiative, attention to thoroughness, accuracy and details.
3. Ability to work with general supervision.
4. Knowledge of the District’s service area preferred.
5. Work inside and outside in all weather conditions and varying terrains for extended periods of time.
6. Capable of bending, stooping, and crouching throughout the work period.
7. Capable of lift up to 50 pounds throughout the work period

Specific Responsibilities May Include:
1. Reads and records information using a hand-held device. Must be able to complete the assigned route daily.
2. Drive District vehicle in accordance with established District Driving and Safety policies and procedures, as well as strictly following traffic laws and ordnances.
3. Report all unusual conditions, events or occurrences immediately to supervisor.
4. Communicate with and assist customers, co-workers, and management professionally, regardless of provocation.
5. Comply with and understand all pertinent District policies and procedures.
6. Performs a variety of other duties as assigned
